BANGALORE : It has been reliably learnt that the Reddy brothers were mounting pressure on the State BJP leadership to have a new chief minister for the state in place of Yaddyurappa on whom they had no faith.
Already the rift between the CM and the mine lords was widening, and the Reddy brothers who are cautious enough to see that they do not face the blame of dethroning Yaddyurappa, are now trying to have another person of Yaddyurappa’s community itself to the top post. They, it is learnt were eying Speaker Jagadish Shettar for this purpose.
It is learnt, the dissident group which has realized that Shettar was hesitating to identify himself with them, would be holding talks with Shettar to arrive at a suitable conclusion.
It has also been reliably learnt that the dissident faction would be bringing together all displeased ministers and legislators and would meet the high command with a demand to change the leadership.
The meeting held at Revenue Minister Karunaker Reddy’s residence on Monday was attended by ministers Janardhan Reddy,Sriramulu, Goolihatti Shekhar, Anand Asnotikar, Balachandra, Shivanagowda Nayaka and ShivarajTangadagi.
