MANGALORE: The erratic power cuts resorted to by the MESCOM since the past few days, is testing the patience of the people. Moreover, the authorities have also failed to cite any clear cut reason for the frequent power cuts which has made matters worse in the city and elsewhere, making the situation unimaginable during summer.
Even the silence of energy minister K Eshwarappa regarding the frequent power cuts,has given room for surprise as otherwise the minister would be often issuing statements saying there is no power shortage.
What reason can be attributed to these frequent power cuts ? Is it technical problem or failure at the official level ? So far there is no answer. Any enquiry at the MESCOM office, would receive a readymade reply that they cannot give any reason as everything depended on the higher-ups.
Reports say that already several organizations have decided to take up cudgels against the MESCOM for the erratic power cuts.
