VITTAL : Yet another interesting story relating to the serial killer has come to light of late. It is learnt, Mohan had lured Sunanda of Peruvaje at a Congress convention held in Mangalore.
Sunanda, daughter of Ratnavathi Poojarti of Peruvaje village in Sullia taluk was the sole bread winner of the family comprising her mother, grandmother and sister. On February 11, 2008, Sunanda had left home for the town never to return. The same evening at 8 pm she lay dead at the Mysore bus stand under mysterious circumstances. The jewellery on her person and a cash of Rs 25000 which she had drawn from the Bank, were missing. Though the case seemed to be a murder at the outset, the Mysore police believed this to be a case of suicide.
They who had traced Suannda’s whereabouts had telephoned her family and had told them that she had died of epileptic seizures.
Reports have now revealed that when Sunanda had been to Mangalore on January 19, 2008 to attend a Congress convention along with others, Mohan who was present there had introduced himself to the young lady as Shashidar. He had even lied to her that he worked as a supervisor in Mysore. It is learnt, Mohan who was in continuous touch with Sunanda even used to visit her house.
Today, Sunanda’s mother Ratnavathi recalls how this man called Shashidhar had cheated all of them after stating that all of them can be happy if he married Sunanda. He had also made Sunanda believe that he would get himself transferred to Puttur from Mysore after marriage. Shashidhar had even told the family that he would tie the knot with Sunanda at the Malla temple in Kasargod on February 11, 2008 and had made the young lady come to Sullia. Accordingly, Sunanda had left home with a cash of Rs 25000 which she had availed as bank loan and all her jewellery. The same evening, Sunanda herself had contacted her home andinformed that she was in Malla tmple and would come the next day. Meanwhile, Shashidhar too had telephoned her house no sooner he elminated her at Mysore and said he was waiting for Sunanda at the temple. The family was aghast then to know that Sunanda was not with Shashidhar.
Sunanda’s family had shifted after her death and is residing with her elder brother at his residence near Peruvaje Temple, Today Sunanda’s brother wails saying the request made to the cops to conduct a thorough probe into his sister’s death had proved to be of no use.
