Cut off power, water connection to Yenepoya varsity, says HC

BANGALORE : In a significant development, the State High Court has ordered the government to cut off power and electricity connections to Yenepoya Deemed University in Mangalore which has failed to adhere to the Court orders with regard to admitting medical students.
A division bench of the High Court headed by Justice Gopala Gowda which took up the writ filed by JS Kavya, a student who was denied admission by the University, has even taken the state government to task for remaining apathetic to such flouting of orders by a university.
The Court has also directed the Principal Secretary of the Medical Education Department to be present in the court on November 3 and give his explanation on the issue.
