Save NH panel calls for DK, Udupi bundh on Dec 1

UDUPI : Govindraj Hegde, Convenor of the Save National Highway-17 Action Committee has said that the Committee has decided to resort to a Dakshina Kannada and Udupi bundh on December 1 opposing the bad condition of the highways and other roads in the two districts.
He said a decision to this effect was taken at a meeting of representatives of varous organisations and political parties held recently.
On this occasion, Hegde also demanded that the Suratkal-BC Road fly-over works be completed at the earliest, to complete all procedures pertaining to the Suratkal-Kundapr four -lane project and to maintain the existing road by the Highway department until it was converted into four-lane.
He further threatened that highway bundhs would be resorted to in different areas right from Shiroor to Bantwal for one month if the demands were not met with even after the December 1 bundh.
