BANGALORE : ” Chief Minister Yaddyurappa is facing Shobha menace. In case the government suffers a downfall, then the BJP may not come to power again in the state. The people are already fed up with the BJP rule,” said Swabhimani Vedike leader and former Puttur Legislator Shakuntala Shetty. Interestingly, Shetty who has been expelled from the BJP is presently camping at the Reddy brothers’ residence and has joined the bandwagon against Yaddyurappa.
” The former Uttar Pradesh chief minister Kalyan Singh had to lose power owing to a woman (Suman Roy) ; ultimately BJP lost power in that state. Now in our state, the Shobha menace has sparked off dissidence. In case there is no change of leadership, then it may lead to more confusion. The BJP may not have future in the state,” said Shakuntala while speaking to reporters after meeting health minister Sriramulu in his residence.
Already the Reddy brothers have considered Shakuntala Shetty and her political mentor Ram Bhat as strong leaders in DK who can raise a voice even against Sadananda Gowda. In case the Reddy faction gains an upperhand in the ongoing tussle, then Shakuntala may surely reap some benefit from the same.
” I have realized that the BJP government can survive in the state only with the help of Reddy brothers.I have held talks with the Reddys and have apprised them of the fact that any wrong move would lead to the total downfall of the BJP in the state,” Shetty said.
The question now is will Shakuntala’s mentor Ram Bhat accept her association with the Reddy brothers. In fact Ram Bhat had a few day ago made a statement that the Yaddyurappa would lose his chair owing to the undue preference he gave to the Reddy brothers.
