Information Commission serves summons to Mangalore Tahsildar

MANGALORE : The Information Commission has served summons to the Mangalore Tahsildar

for furnishing incomplete information to an RTI applicant Muttayya Shettigar of Badaga

Edapadavu.

Muttayya had earlier submitted an application to the Commission seeking details of the criteria

adopted along with the relevant documents with regard to the issuing of an order that late

Kumar Shettigar of Badaga Edapadavu was not the bread winner of the family.

Muttayya Sherigar had complained that the application was returned with a remark that all

information has been attached, while in reality no information was furnished.

The Information Commission which took note of the complaint has issued a summons seeking

clarification as the officer could be penalized upto Rs 25000 for furnishing incomplete

information.

Muttayya Shettigar has been a social activist through his Janaspandana Balakedarara Vedike.
