Road dividers causing hassles while crossing

Posted on Jun 13th, 2009 and filed under Local News.

MANGALORE : The widening and concretization of several roads in the city, would surely ease traffic congestion on some of the busy roads. But the road dividers put up at several of the .roads, are now learnt to be causing problems, particularly to the pedestrians to cross the roads.

The road dividers have been constructed continuously without any gap, making it a tedious task for the people to cross the road, by stepping on to the dividers. Earlier there used to be barricades in place of dividers and there was also enough space for people to cross the road. However, now the presence of road dividers even in places meant for crossing the roads, have proved to be a nuisance.

Particularly, a number of people cross the road from the Railway station Road towards the road near the Town Hall. But the dividers here are surely creating problems for the pedestrians. Hope the authorities would take note of the problems faced by the general public and do the needful.
