Mosque stoned near BC Road

BANTWAL : Even as BC Road was trying to return to normalcy following Monday night’s incident in which two autorickshaw drivers were attacked, miscreants reportedly pelted stones at the Pallamajalu masjid in Bantwal rural police station limits on Tuesday night.
According to reports two groups were indulging in stoning at Pallamajalu last night. The incident fist took place when a group began to stone a few Muslim youth who were walking towards home on the masjid road. In retaliation, there was stoning from the other side too, in the process damaging the masjid as well as two houses in the vicinity.
Meanwhile, Abdul Basheer Maulavi, the religious head of the Hayatul Islamic masjid has lodged a complaint that the masjid has been stoned and has in his complaint named Prakash, Naveen, Surendra, Sanjeeva Shetty, Harish, Santhu, and Satish as the accused.
There is even a complaint that the house of a certain Ashraf at Bidrakodi was stone and damaged and the occupants threatened. Ashraf in his complaint has said that a gang of ten persons including Praveena, Aruna, Babu, Shivaram and Radha were involved in the act.
Yet another person named Shivaram has also lodged a complaint stating his house has been stoned.He has named Mohammad Haneef, Sadiq, Mohammad, Ahmed Sharief and Angadi Isaq as the accused.
Senior police officials are camping in BC Road and additional police forces have been deployed in the area.
