UPPINANGADY : Uppinangady police have been successful in trapping two chain snatchers who were escaping after snatching a chain weighing three sovereigns belonging to Monamma while she was passing through an isolated place at Halangeri near Kokkada. The incident took place when the woman was returning from her daughter’s place on Saturday afternoon.
Monamma had immediately informed the matter to a localite named Lakshminarayana, who followed the chain snatchers and later passed on the information to the Uppinangady police. The police who immediately swung into action arrested the duo namely Pramod of near Kadaba and Prashanth of Udupi, along with their bike and the stolen chain worth Rs 21,000.,
