Indefinite strike by Kerala bus operators from Dec 1

Posted on Nov 30th, 2009 and filed under General.

MANJESHWAR : The bus operators of Kerala have decided to go on an indefinite strike from December 1 following failure of their talks with the state transport minister.
During the talks the minister turned down the four major demands of the bus operators including fixing of minimum fare at Rs 5, to provide 50 per cent concession to students,to revoke the speed governor rule and steps to restrict government buses on private routes.
With the government stating that it was difficult for it to all of a sudden concede to the demands, it is now almost certain that the private bus operators would go o a strike from December 1.
