Airavatha, Rajahamsa to ply on Shiradi Ghat

MANGALORE : The KSRTC which had suspended its Airavatha and Rajahamsa bus services  on  the Mangalore-Bangalore route  owing to the pathetic condition of the Shiradi Ghat stretch of the road, has now decided to once again permit the two bus services to operate on the route.
As the distance between Mangalore and Bangalore  via Shiradi Ghat is much less, buses find this route convenient instead of the alternate route via Puttur, Madikeri and Mysore. This decision of the KSRTC has much relieved the frequent commuters on the route. Probably, the KSRTC has taken such a decision in view of the ban on movement of ore lorries on the Shiradi Ghat stretch until this month end. But it is all likely that the Airavatha and Rajahamsa buses may be off the Shiradi Ghat next month when the ore lorries would once again ply on the Ghat section.
