Posted on Dec 12th, 2009 and filed under General.

MANGALORE : Various organisations including the Ahinda, Karavali Karnataka Janabhivridhi Vedike, PUCL and Citizens’ Forum for Development of Mangalore, have urged the government to hand over the case of the theft of five files from the CWC office in Mangalore to the CBI. It may be recalled here that the Department of Women and Child Welfare Officers who had recently entered the CWC office, had left with the files and had not returned the same.
Addressing press persons, Lolaksha, President of Ahinda said the recent move of suspending the CWC chairman only revealed that those in the government were backing anti-social elements that were involved in child trafficking.
He also expressed strong doubts over the involvement of several influential politicians behind the case of the theft of the CWC files and demanded that the government took this case seriously and handed over the same to the CBI. If that was not possible, then the Centre should intervene and order for a probe into the case, he said ” A narco analysis of the officials who took the CWC files, will reveal the truth,” Lolaksha further opined.
He also demanded that the Government revoked the order of suspending the CWC chairperson.
Natesh Ullal of Karavali Karnataka Janabhivridhi Vedike, PB D’Sa of PUCL, Ramesh Kumar of DYFI, Vidya Dinker of Citizens’ Forum and Prashanth Achar of SFI were also present at the press meet.
