BANGALORE : State Governor HR Bharadwaj in a message conveyed to Chief MinisterYeddyurappa who has maintained a silence in the backdrop of the CBI raid against the mining of the Bellary ministers, has instructed the CM to drop the mine baron ministers.
This is the second warning issued to the CM by the governor following the mining controversy in the state.
Even the Congress leaders who had met the Governor on December 5, had requested him to look into the issue. Reliable sources revealed that the Governor on December 7 had asked the Government to make its stand clear on the issue. The governor is learnt to have told the CM that ” The people are viewing the state administration with an eye of suspicion owing to the presence of the Reddy brothers and other mine lords in the cabinet. Therefore there is a need for the government to issue a clarification to the public,” he said.
The Governor also pointed out the displeasure of Lokayukta Santosh Hegde over the inaction of the government despite the Lokayukta unearthing the irregularities of Reddy brothers in last December.
Even opposition leaders are sore over the dilly dallying of the government to order for a probe into the mining irregularities based on the Lokayukta report.
