Ramya Shetty ‘missing’ case turns into ‘kidnap’ case

MANGALORE: The family of Ramya Shetty of Naringana in Konaje police station limits has lodged a complaint with the Konaje police alleging that Ramya has been kidnapped. Earlier a case of missing was registered in the station when it came to light that Ramya,daughter of Sadashiva Shetty of Pottolige in Naringana had eloped with her neighbour and lover Mohammad who was already a married man with three kids.
Meanwhile, following reports that the pair was in Manjeshwar, the Konaje police had even been to Manjeshwar only to return empty handed. In this backdrop, the VHP had staged a protest outside the police station when the VHP secretary Jagadish Shenava had reportedly delivered an inflammatory speech. Already a case has been registered against Shenava while Bhasker, a constable of the station has been suspended for abetting with the accused in the case.
It is learnt, Ramya’s brother Shivaprakash has now lodged a complaint against Mohammad accusing him of kidnapping his sister.
