BANTWAL: Serial killer Mohan Kumar who has to his credit as many as 20 murders of women, was produced before the Bantwal court on Wednesday. The court has handed him over to police custody upto December 30.
Police had sought a body warrant in connection with the murder of Shashikala of Punchame in Bantwal police station limits and in this backdrop had sought his custody to facilitate additional probe.
It may be recalled here that the body of Shashikala was found in the Madikeri bus stand. The police are expected to take Mohan Kumar to Madikeri. Police sources revealed that investigations into the case of the murder of Hema of Vittal and Baby of Budoli too would be taken up.
Mohan Kumar, who seemed quite composed as he came out of the court, quietly sat in the police vehicle. Even the large numbers of people who otherwise use to be present to have a look at the serial killer were absent this time as he was escorted by two gunmen.
