Un-uniformed cops land in soup !

VITTAL : In an interesting case reported from near Vittal, the Bidadi police who were in the town recently to trap a young pair that had eloped, were roughed up by local quarry workers mistaking the un-uniformed cops as the goonda squad sent by the girl’s family.
It has been learnt that a young pair, Lakshmi (9), daughter of a hotelier of Bidadi near Bangalore, who was in love with Anand (24) a driver of Tamil Nadu origin had eloped weeks ago after both the families opposed the marriage as the pair belonged to Okkaliga and Bovi communities respectively.
The young pair which had eloped had sought shelter with the quarry workers at Kallurtiyadka near Vittal, where there were relatives for the youth. Following a complaint by Lakshmi’s father, the cops who were hunting the young pair gathered information of their presence near Vittal, and had recently been to the town and had even traced the hideout of the pair. It is learnt, on Saturday, the un-uniformed policemen were all set to take the young pair into custody, when the quarry workers getting hint of the same, but mistaking the cops for the goondas of the girl’s father, roughed them up and beat them black and blue. The cops later on informed the Vittal police and trapped the young pair with their help and took the pair to Bidadi.
