BANGALORE : If reports are to be believed Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa is once again keen to reinduct his confidante Shobha Karandlaje into the cabinet, provided the dissident legislators did not raise much objection. Shobha, it is learnt , is likely to be inducted after the next budget session.
As of now the dissidence that rocked the state BJP has subsided after the CM entered into a compromise with the mine lords and even gave a cabinet berth to Renukacharaya, prominent among the dissident legislators. It is learnt, the CM has already held talks with the mine barons as well as senior leaders of the party with regard to re-inducting Shobha into the cabinet.
Even Shobha on her part is making some efforts and had recently been to Delhi to meet senior leader Sushma Swaraj. Reports said Shobha who has sought Sushma’s help to get her reinducted into the cabinet has also assured that she has realized her past mistake and would henceforth not interfere in the portfolios of other ministers.
In fact, it was Shobha’s undue interference in the portfolios of other ministers that had earlier invited the wrath of the mine lords who were adamant that she be dropped from the cabinet.
As of now the pre-conditions laid down for Shobha is that she should not interfere in other portfolios if made a minister.
But the fact remains that the Reddys though may give consent for Shobha’s reinduction into the cabinet for the time being, the chances of them raising objection in the near future cannot be ruled out. In that case, dissidence is once again likely to hit the BJP, feel political observers.
Still, the reports that Shobha would be reinducted into the cabinet, has aroused much curiosity in political circles.
