CPIM picketing turns violent

MANGALORE: The picketing organized by the CPIM in front of the Deputy Commissioner’s office on Thursday demanding BPL ration cards to all poor and also to protest price hike, turned violent when the agitators pushing aside inspector Vinay Gaonkar who was at the gates of the DC office, rushed inside
Two CPIM activists were injured in the melee. The picketing activists were arrested and later released.
District CPIM Secretary B Madhava, J Balakrishna Shetty, UB Lokayya, Vasanth Achari, Sukumar, Sadashiva Das and others took part in the agitation.
