Do we need unnecessary road humps ?

Posted on Aug 28th, 2009 and filed under Letters to Editor.

Dear editor,

The road humps or the speed breakers installed unscientifically on several roads of the city, have proved to be of great nuisance to motorists particularly two and four wheelers.

What the authorities fail to understand is that the road humps should be erected in places where they are needed the most in order to avert accidents. But what we see is that road humps have been erected in unscientific fashion in some areas only inviting accidents.

The police department in Mangalore should follow its counterpart in Bangalore which has decided to remove all unnecessary and unscientific road humps.

Twinkle

Mangalore.
