PADUBIDRI : Ramesh Kumar(24), the secretary of the city unit of the DYFI, lost his life in a collision between a speeding express bus and a two-wheeler near Tenka Ermal bridge on Friday evening.
The mishap took place when Ramesh who was pillion riding the bike along with his friend Dolphy was returning after taking part in the DYFI state level convention at Kundapur. Though a seriously injured Ramesh was immediately shifted to the hospital, he breathed his last there. The bike rider Dolphy sustained minor injuries.
Ramesh, a resident of Adyapady in Mangalore is a post-graduate and is a journalism student of Mysore open university and was an active DYFI activist since the past two years.
