5 Sri Rama Sene activists arrested for Jeppinamogaru attack case

MANGALORE : Police have arrested five activists of the Sri Rama Sene in connection with the case of the attack on Muslim religious head Usman Faizi and Mohammad Ashraf on the night of February 11 at Jeppinamogaru in Mangalore rural police station limits.
The arrested are Chethan Poojari (22) of Veeranagar, Ganesh alias Munna (25) of Maroli, Kaushik (18) of Padil, Harish (27) of Faisalnagar and Sujeeth (19) of Nagori. A black Tata Indigo car has also been seized from the accused.
The accused have been charged with attacking the two with lethal weapons while they were travelling in a city bus towards State Bank near Jeppinamogaru. They had also damaged the window panes of the bus.
Police said interrogations of the five have revealed that their act aimed at inciting communal feelings.
