Konkan gas leakage due to negligence : Probe

VITTAL : Investigation into the recent gas leakage at the Puttur Petro Chemicals, that had sent waves of panic among locals, has revealed that the company’s negligence had led to the incident.Vittal police have already registered a case against the company owner.
The company’s owner had earlier informed the officials that the rupturing of an underground pipe transporting gas to the refilling unit from the storage tank, had led to the mishap. The loss has been estimated at around 15 lakhs. The gas pipeline is learnt to have ruptured when the employees opened the gate value to let the effluents out. Now investigation has revealed that negligence of the company had led to the mishap.
However the company authorities have clarified that gas supply to customers would continue as usual.
