Posted on Feb 27th, 2010 and filed under General.

KARKALA: The Karkala TMC met held here witnessed an interesting sequence of events when the ruling and opposition members entered into a verbal duel as usual over water and electricity problem. This time however the situation was all the more interesting, with the ruling Congress councilors protesting with lamps in hands, asking the BJP councilors to get electricity from their government. On the other hand, the opposition BJP councilors, held empty pots towards the Congress councilors asking them to make arrangements for regular water supply in the town.
Congress member Asfaq Ahmed, said the ruling BJP in the state which has failed to provide regular electricity supply had no right to continue in power. When opposition BJP councilors complained that the water supply situation in the town was unsatisfactory, the Congress members rebuked by asking them to first make arrangements to normalize the power supply situation.
Finally, TMC Chairman Subhith Kumar said the water supply to the town was affected due to irregular power supply and added a complaint has already been lodged with the MESCOM. He also said there was no point in creating pandemonium by holding empty pots.
