MANGALORE: The Sri Rama Sene Co-Convenor Prasad Attavar, who has been recently arrested on charges of links with underworld don Ravi Poojari, has been shifted to Bellary jail. Reports said several other accused, including Chota Shakeel and Ravi Poojari aides who had been arrested recently too have been shifted to the Bellary and Gulbarga jails as a precautionary measure.

Police sources said the step has been taken to avert any likely clash between the rival groups as Ravi Poojari and Chota Shakeel are staunch opponents. Moreover, the city jail has been seeing frequent clash among under trials in the recent past.
