House burgled in city

MANGALORE : Valuables worth nearly Rs 2.5 lakh have been reported stolen from the house of one M Jiyavuddin at D’Silva Lane near Kankanady IDBI Bank recently. The theft reportedly took place when Jiyavuddin’s wife Latifa had been to her parental home at Karkala on March 22. The house owner is employed in the Gulf.

The theft came to light when Latifa returned home on March 25. The back door was found broken and a cash of Rs 3000 kept in the cupboard, four bangles, a necklace and three chains were reported stolen.

Pandeshwar police have registered a case and are conducting the investigations.
