BANTWAL: The recent case wherein a contractor named Naveen Kumar was attacked by BJP leader Kodman Kantappa Shetty and six others at Kodman on Wednesday evening, has now taken a new twist with Billawa associations taking the case seriously and deciding to hold a meeting to discuss the issue.
Reports say the BJP leader hurling caste abuses on Naveen Kumar has now taken a serious turn. The assailants had then even reportedly robbed Naveen of his valuables and cash. The fact that the contractor Naveen belongs to the Billawa community has made the Billawa associations to intervene. Meanwhile, reports say even Hindu associations which have evinced interest in the case want to settle the case through talks.
The attack had taken place while the contractor was overseeing a bituminization work that was being undertaken near Kodman as per the instructions of quality inspectors who had come from Delhi to inspect the road works undertaken under Prime Minister’s Grameen Sadak Yojana.
The Bantwal rural police have already registered cases against six persons.
