MANGALORE : Barke police have on Thursday arrested two persons on charges of snatching chain in Mulki station limits. Gold worth Rs 45000 has been seized from them. The arrested have been identified as Mustafa and Imtiyaz, residents of Mulki Lingappaiahkadu.
The duo were arrested on suspicion when they were trying to sell the spare parts of a cycle stolen by them, at MG Road at around 8 pm
Interrogations of the two revealed that Mustafa along with one Shameer had snatched a chain weighing three and a half sovereigns of a woman at Angaragudde in Mulki. A complaint had even been lodged with Mulki police.
Police sources said the stolen chain which had been sold to a jewellery shop, has been recovered.
