PUTTUR : Rumours are doing the rounds that the missing Tingalady Umesh Rai has embraced Islam in Kerala. Rai who had been to his friend Jayaraj’s house at Padil on March 26 was missing since then. It is learnt, Rai had followed the footsteps of his brother who too had embraced Islam earlier.
Reports say two persons from Kozhikode had been to Tingalady eight months ago, enquiring about Umesh Rai’s brother Gangadhar and had also informed that they had come to Tingalady to enquire about the family. They had also then reportedly informed that Gangadhar had converted himself to Islam and was running a mobile shop in Kozhikode. It has also been learnt that Gangadhar who had not been hometown for the past eight months had kept his wife at her parental home itself.
It is now being said that even Umesh Rai who is facing several criminal charges, might have chosen to embrace Islam.
