MANGALORE: The four persons arrested on charges of going on rampage inside the VS Enterprises at Bejai New Road in the city, have been remanded to judicial custody till April 19.
The foursome namely Prashanth (30), Jagadish (24), Venkatramana Mallya (38) and Sandeep Mathias (34) who arrived near the shop at around midnight on Sunday, then thrashed, abused and threatened the watchman Hanumesh, a complaint lodged with the police by the owner Ashok Rai said.
The assailants had later reportedly stoned the window panes breaking them. They had even stoned the bonnet of a vehicle that was parked nearby. The accused were caught hold of by the locals when the watchman raised a cry.
During interrogations, the four have alleged that they attacked the watchman who had tried to attack them on an earlier occasion.
One of the accused Prashanth was working as a driver for the firm and had quit job just six months ago. A previous enmity is said to be the cause of the attack.
