The true colour of the Sri Rama Sene, an extremist Hindu organization stands exposed following the reports of the sting operation conducted by Headlines Today and Tehelka. The time is opportune for all Hindus to outrightly reject organizations like Sri Rama Sene that have been cheating innocent Hindus in the name of Hindu Gods.
The only difference between this criminal organization which is ready to instigate riots in Mangalore Bangalore and other areas, and the underworld dons including Davood Ibrahim and Ravi Poojari is that the Sri Rama Sene has been given a religious cover and recognition of innocent Hindus as part of a deliberate ploy.
The Sri Rama Sene has been responsible for communal riots and moral policing since the past several years. There are around 24 criminal cases against Sri Rama Sene leader Pramod Mutalik and others. They are regarding involvement in the riots disturbing harmony in Bababudangiri in Chikmagalur, violation of SC ruling in Bababudangiri, delivering inflammatory speeches, illegal entry, instigating violence etc.
These were cases that would have to some extent restricted those who aimed at disturbing communal harmony. But the Karnataka cabinet had decided to withdraw the cases. Then the Komu Sauharda Vedike in a press communize on 5-1-2009 had condemned this decision of the government.
The Sri Rama Sene has let rules regulations, ethical values and democratic principles to wind and is functioning in an unrestrained manner. It not only attacked a pub in Mangalore and then openly defended the act but also explained that it was done on the pretext of ‘protecting culture.’
Pramod Mutalik has also been openly declaring the he would not allow celebration of Valentine’s Day. This extremist organization which intends to impose all sort of restrictions on women putting forth medieval age regulations, in reality belongs to a culture that doesn’t mind denuding a woman.
The Chief Minister, Home Minister and all BJP leaders while saying “No one will be allowed to take law into hand’ have been defending the line of thinking of the Sri Rama Sene. The withdrawal of cases against Mutalik clearly points out the BJP Government and Sangh Parivar patronage to the Sri Rama Sene.
In this backdrop we would like to place the following demands.
* What the Sri Rama Sene has been doing is goondaism and anti-national acts of serious nature. Therefore, Mutalik, Vasanth Kumar Bhavani and others have to be arrested under relevant IPC sections and be subject to a CBI probe and punished. In such a manner a suitable message has to be passed to those who intend to resort to such acts in future. This is a must to save democracy in the nation.
* The reason for the failure of the police department in the state to take action against Pramod Mutalik who has declared that he has prepared over a thousand suicide bombers, has become crystal clear through the sting operation. Along with Sri Rama Sene all those communal police officials and personnel who have been associated with the Sri Rama Sene too be subject to legal action.
* Even the relationship between Nagaraj Jambagi involved in the Hubli court complex explosion case and the Sri Rama Sene need to be probed.
* Most of Sri Rama Sene men are former members of Vishwa Hindu Parishat, Bharjangdal and other RSS Parivar organizations. The relationship should be probed and the erring organizations be subject to action.
* All communal riots that have taken place in Mangalore,Bangalore and other places be reinvestigated
* The Sri Rama Sene leader Jithesh who during the sting operation admitted that he was responsible for the murder of a Maulvi during the 2006 communal violence in Mangalore, be arrested and legal action initiated.
* The Mangalore communal riots case should be handed over to the CBI for a re-probe.
* The jail officers of Bellary and other staff should be arrested for providing all faculties to the Sri Rama Sene leader Prasad Attavar inside the prison .
* As it has been proved that the Sri Rama Sene was involved in anti-national activities, it has to be banned in the interest of the nation.
