What’s going on in our state ?

Posted on Jun 3rd, 2010 and filed under Letters to Editor.

To note that crores of rupees are being spent on a so called global investors meet to attract investors, we feel as if we are under the rule of some king and not under the administration of a democratically elected government.

The problems of the flood hit people of north Karnataka have still not been solved with the relief not reaching the needy. This is a grave injustice done by the government to the affected people. The government can very well construct two houses to the destitute families, using the funds it wastes in releasing ads to one newspaper.

It was shocking to read that the funds raised through padayatra and donations for the relief of flood hit people, have still not been effectively utilized. We even fear if the Karnataka government would do anything worthwhile in the event of such calamities. Mother nature will never forgive the state government if it continues to do injustice to the people.
