Justice Saldanha unhappy over acquittal of Chitralekha murder accused

BANGALORE: Former High Court Judge Justice MF Saldanha and several other prominent personalities have expressed their displeasure over the acquittal of the accused in the high-profile Chitralekha murder case.

The case is pertaining to the murder of Chitralekha, the daughter of MP Chandrakanth, former High Court judge in 2004. The body of Chitralekha was thrown near the Shiradi Ghat. Former CM Devaraj Urs’s daughter Bharathi Urs, T Madhukumar, IN Chandrakanth were arrested in connection with the case.

But the recent court ruling acquitting them, has displeased several including Justice Saldanha and Arundhatinag.

Justice Saldanha said “ The court had completely ignored several prime evidences including the mobile conversation records and two other evidences.”

“Such verdicts will make the public lose faith in the judiciary,” he strongly felt.

Meanwhile, Even Arundhatinag says “ The ample evidences to prove the murder case have been destroyed.”

MK Srinivas Gowda, Chief of RGUHY on the other hand requested the court to reconsider the verdict in this case.
