An unusual ‘love story’

KARKALA : She is just 17, while he is around 21. Both are cousins by relation. The two who grew up together, even fell in love with each other. But the fear that their families may not agree for their marriage, forced them to elope. This love story does not end here. Now the eloped pair has appeared before the police station as married couple. The parents of the young pair meanwhile are in a fix not knowing whether to unite the young pair or separate them.

Such a bizarre case has been reported from Karkala. The young lady hailing from Baradi Kanapanahitlu has eloped with her paternal uncle’s son Pramod and has tied the knot with him. The girl who had been to the tailor shop to give clothes for stitching and been missing since then. Even her uncle’s son went missing at the same time. All this happened about one and a half months ago. The two families suspected that the young pair might have eloped and even lodged a complaint with the Karkala rural police. The eloped pair tied the knot in Dharmasthala. However, gathering hint that the police were in search of them, the pair appeared before the station on Tuesday. The police after recording their statement have handed them over to their parents who are still in a fix.
