Moodbidri station comes under Police Commissionerate

MANGALORE : The Moodbidri Police Station has been included under the purview of the Mangalore Police Commissionerate. The Government has issued a circular in this regard on June 5. With this the number of stations included in the Commissionerate has increased to 17.

The Commissionerate which commenced its operations formally on January 26 is under the direct control of the IGP and the DC or the SP has no authority to intervene in its functioning.

Presently, two DCPs and two ACPs are functioning under the Commissionerate. Police Commissioner Seemanth Kumar Singh said two more ACPs and three more DCPs would be appointed to the Commission shortly.

Seemanth Kumar sight further clarified that Moodbidri was included in the Commissionerate as it was a place of historic significance of the Jains.
