Yuva Morcha leader’s comment raises eyebrows

Posted on Jun 21st, 2010 and filed under Local News.

MANGALORE : A recent statement from BJP Yuva Morcha Sate President Sunil Kumar that the coastal Karnataka was proving a haven for terrorists and that this has affected the internal security has surprised many of his own party men as his statement was very clearly pointing towards the BJP government in the state.

However, Sunil Kumar has refused to cite any reason for the problem. “ The terrorists who claimed the life of a scientist in Bangalore, had escaped to Mangalore. Even a person suspected to be involved in the Pune German bakery blast case was arrested in Mangalore. It is not proper to blame the government for this. We should try to understand that a few local organizations have links with the terror world,” Sunil Kumar said.

He said the BJP Yuva Morcha would organize an awareness campaign on the terror links in coastal Karnataka. “We will also protest against the problems faced by the railway in the coastal belt and the unending problem on the highway,” he said.

Another statement of Sunil Kumar that ‘Naxal activities has seen a spurt in the Western Ghat area,” has raised many an eyebrow when Home Minister VS Acharya had recently claimed that he Naxal activities in Malnad had reduced significantly in the recent past.
