DK’s ex-minister too blamed for Lokayukta resignation ?

Posted on Jun 28th, 2010 and filed under General.

KARWAR : Reports of late indicate that even a former minister from Dakshina Kannada
along with the district minister Krishna Palemar was responsible for the resignation of the
Lokayukta as Palemar had recommended the suspension of Karwar DCF R Gokul just
to protect the interests of a former minister who is also in transport and shipping business.
Though it is said that both the present and former ministers were not in good terms, such
political differences are immaterial when it came to business.
Moreover, the former minister had even taken part in the meeting convened by Palemar
in Karwar after his visit to the Belekeri port recently. But DCF Gokul had abstained from
the meet solely for the reason that even ore businessmen facing criminal charges were
attending this meeting.
It has also been learnt that at the meeting, Palemar had even suggested registering of
criminal case against DCF Gokul and all forest officials for allowing the unauthorized
ore to pass through the forest check posts.
