UDUPI : If the notorious Nityananda Swami made news recently by undertaking
Panchagni Tapassu at his ashram after his release, in Udupi, there was another
Nityananda who too performed a Panchagni Tapassu. But this man is no seer, but a
social activist -Nityananda Olakadu.
The Udupi District Citizens’ Committee, on June 28, Monday organized a novel protest
at the Sanskrit College grounds here, opposing the hike in fuel prices and the resignation
of Lokayukta justice Santosh Hegde.
Nityananda Olakadu attracted public attention during the protest in the guise
of a sanyasi posing as if he was undertaking a penance, with fire around him.
