Cong demands dismissal of state govt

MANGALORE : Congress workers who were staging a protest at Hampankatta Signal
Circle on July 16, Friday against the government inaction in handing over the illegal
mining case to the CBI, obstructed vehicular movement in the area for some time.
The agitators squatted right on the middle of the road urging the government to drop the
ministers involved in the mine scam.
The Congress leaders also demanded that the Governor should immediately dismiss the
state government which was involved in rampant corruption
Policemen had a tough time in handling the over 200 Congress workers who had squatted
on the road and finally they were manhandled and taken to the station in the police
vehicle.
Congress leaders Vijaykumar Shetty, Suresh Ballal, Kallige Taranath Shetty, Ivan
D’Souza, MG Hegde,Shashidhar Hegde, Moidin Bava and others took part in the protest.
