NH dept throws more dust at eyes of public !

Posted on Sep 17th, 2009 and filed under General.

PADUBIDRI : The recent protest staged in Padubidri area demanding the repair of the Highway, wherein the former minister Vasanth Salian, had even set a 15 day deadline for the authorities, seems to have yielded result. But it is no matter of pleasure, as the Highway Department is only throwing dust at public eyes by resorting to the task of filling the potholes with jelly stones mixed with jelly powder.
This unscientific patch work resorted to by the department has only added to the trouble of the general public and motorists using the road, as the dust arising from this jelly powder is only making riding extremely difficult on this road, in turn posing the danger of more accidents on the stretch of the highway.
On enquiry, the person in-charge of this patch work, revealed that they had been directed to close the potholes in this fashion and add that they have no information of any plans to bitumenise the road.
Already Padubidri has emerged as an accident zone due to the bad highway and the new problem that has cropped up thanks to the Highway Department, is sure to pose danger to much more lives.
