Gangadhar Shetty under house arrest, says NCHRO

MANGALORE : The National Council of Human Rights Organizations has said that
Gangadhar Shetty who has taken a u-turn in the case of alleged human rights violation by
Mangalore Rural SI Prakash, has been placed under house arrest.
Saduddin M Saali, District unit President of NCHRO who met Commissioner Seemanth
Kumar Singh on July 26, Monday, requested for steps to free Shetty .
“ On July 25, Sunday night, instigated by SI Prakash and his personnel, local Christian
leaders Prakash Pereira, Francis Gonsalves and local leaders of Sri Rama Sene have
placed Gangadhar Shetty under illegal detention,” Saali alleged.
“Gangadhar Shetty has been taken to advocate Dinaker Shetty’s office and documents
prepared as wanted by SI Prakash. He could not be contacted over mobile since then
nor are his whereabouts known. His family is panic stricken,” Saali has explained in his
appeal to the Commissioner.
