Cong wants mayor to quit

MANGALORE : Opposition Congress leaders in the Mangalore City Corporation have alleged that there was a complete administrative failure in the MCC under the BJP rule and demanded the resignation of Mayor Rajani Dugganna who, they said has turned a blind eye to the misrule.

Speaking to reporters, DK Ashok, Congress Corporator, said the Congress leaders would shortly be staging a protest in front of the Corporation office opposing the irregularities in the city corporation.

He also pointed dot that the corporation had cancelled the e-tender for the sake of two corporators.

Ashok further took strong exception to the corporation action of once again awarding the water meter reading contract to Prasanna Technologies whose style of functioning was unsatisfactory.

The Congress corporator also alleged that there were widespread irregularities with regard to the work pertaining to the solid waste management unit at Pachanady.
