PADUBIDRI : Yashwanth Shetty, former president of the Ellur gram panchayat has

threatened to stage a protest in front of the ZP office in Mangalore if the suspended

secretary of Ellur Gram Panchayat was reinstated. It may be recalled here that the

panchayat secretary had been suspended on charges of embezzlement of funds. Shetty’s

warning has come in the wake of reports that the axed secretary was trying to exert

political influence to get his suspension order revoked.

Appu Sherigar, the GP Secretary had been charged with misuse of lakhs of rupees by

forging signature. Action was initiated against him after an investigation by the Zilla

Panchayat.
