MANGALORE : Opposition Congress leader Siddaramaiah who contacted Karavali

Ale and The Canara Times Chief BV Seetaram over telephone, a day prior to the

padayatra reaching Bellary, spoke encouraging words to BV See. “Your fight for the

cause of Freedom of Press will not go waste. Your movement against communal forces is

inspiring. Continue your good work,” Siddaramaiah told BV Seetaram.

Siddaramaiah said he was aware that Karavali Ale since the very beginning has been

publishing write-ups that have been an inspiration to the pro-Dalit movement.

To a question on the padayatra Siddaramaiah said “We are immensely pleased by the

great response from the public. The Padayatra has made us realise that the people are

aspiring for a change.”

” My efforts to visit you twice, when you were admitted to KR Hospital at Mysore

owing to ill-health following your arrest as part of a conspiracy by the communal

government, could not succeed owing to some emergency work. Still I used to enquire

about your health with your advocate AK Subbaiah and other journalist friends of

Mysore,” Siddu said.

BV See extended his warm wishes to Siddaramaiah who was bubbling with enthusiasm

and confidence despite the hectic padayatra schedule. Siddu also extended an invitation

to BV See to meet him during his visit to Bangalore.
