UDUPI : A tragic incident wherein a young couple ended their life by consuming poison, has been reported from Gundmi village. The deceased have been identified as Chandra and Mallika. It is suspected that the couple chose the extreme step over the agony of being issueless.
It is learnt the couple who were married for the past five years, had lost their first child, within one month of its birth. Mallika it is said failed to conceive later on.
Though the couple who were found fighting for life in the Halekote maidan, were rushed to the hospital by relatives, they could not be saved.
Kota police have registered a case.
