Pedestrian killed in car hit

MANGALORE : A pedestrian lost his life in front of MCC office after being knocked down by a car which went out of gear. The deceased person has been identified as Deepesh (20) of Kasaragod. The car which belonged to an advocate hit a bus after knocking down the pedestrian and caught fire.

Deepesh was knocked down by an Innova while walking along the footpath near Saibeen Complex. Later he succumbed to his injuries at a private hospital.

The car which hit Deepesh soon began to run amuck and several others who had gathered near Saibeen Complex had a lucky escape from this rampaging vehicle. After this the car dashed against four lamp posts put up on the road as part of Dasara celebrations and knocked down three more motor bikes before hitting a bus bound for Kasaragod. The fire which soon engulfed the car was extinguished by the fire brigade personnel. A case has been registered by the Traffic Police West zone.
