KUNDAPUR : A 15 year old girl who was working in the cashew factory at Shantinagar Noorani near Kota was reportedly kidnapped by one Prakash of Tirthahalli who was working in the same factory. A complaint has been lodged in this connection.
The girl Geetha alias Sangeetha used to work in the factory along with her mother Gulabi since the past two years. It is said Prakash who was working in the boiler section of the factory was pestering Geetha to marry her and reportedly kidnapped her while she was on way to the factory on the morning of October 1 along with her cousin Latha. The incident was said to have occurred while they were passing through an isolated area.
Though a search was launched for Geetha following the information provided by Latha, it turned futile. The police complaint made initially however was not registered following a fear that the girl might have eloped with the youth. The police, it is learnt told the family to wait for a couple of days and then complain if the girl did not return home. But now with no trace of Geetha, the complaint has been registered.
