PUTTUR : The simmering resentment among Puttur Congress leaders has surfaced following a dispute over the appointment of the Block Youth Congress President.
The dispute cropped up when a certain Krishna Prasad Alva issued an advertisement in a daily claiming that he has been appointed as in-charge Block Youth Congress Chief, though the fact being that Yashodhar Gowda was appointed the Youth Congress Chief of this block last year itself.
Reacting to the latest development, Gowda said he has been active as the Youth Congress chief since the past one year and charged Alva of indulging in anti-party activities by declaring himself as the in-charge Youth Congress chief. He also accused Alva of misleading the public through the false information.
Gowda has also said that he would complaint to the High Command on this latest development.
What has been gathered of late is that Krishna Prasad Alva who happens to be the district Youth Congress Vice President was appointed as the in-charge Youth Congress chief of Puttur by the Vinay Raj of the District Youth Congress administrative wing.
It may be recalled there that once earlier too a rift in the Puttur Congress had surfaced following a rift between the Hemanath Shetty and Sudhaker Shetty faction over the appointment of Block Congress President.
However, during the Lok Sabha elections, senior leaders had somewhat pacified the agitating factions and saw that no problem cropped up. Now the recent incident has only added fuel to the fire making matters worse.
