MANGALORE: The body of city’s medical shop owner Abdul Khader, who was missing after he accidentally fell into the river due to the impact of a collision between his two-wheeler and a car on the Netravathi Bridge near Ullal on Saturday night, has been traced in the seas three nautical miles away from Kasaba Bengre. Meanwhile reports revealed that the huge amount which Khader had taken along with him before he left home on Saturday night, for making arrangements for a lunch which he was supposed to host the next day on account of his house warming ceremony, was missing.
Abdul Khader, who owned the New Medical Centre near the service bus stand in the city, had met with an accident when a car had hit his two-wheeler. Meanwhile, family members of Khader have complained that the police have not undertaken any medical examination of the car driver to verify if he was in an intoxicated state at that time. The relatives of Khader also say that the trouser of Khader was found let loose from his body when found and say they have a doubt if it was someone’s deliberate act to lay hands on the cash which Khader had, or was due to the impact of the tide.
Meanwhile, hospital sources have said Afzal of Kinya who was pillion riding the two-wheeler and was seriously injured in the mishap, is presently recovering.
