In an interesting case reported from Puttur, a six year old girl who had
landed in the town by train from Hassan, later cooked up a story that she was kidnapped
by strangers who abandoned her in the town.

A woman who was suffering labour pain, gave birth to a baby in the
Arogya Kavacha 108 ambulance in which she was being taken to the hospital. The

The Uppinangady Rural Police Station here had an unusual guest
on March 22, Tuesday. It was a King Cobra which was spotted at the inspector’s office,
driving the police personnel panicky. Every effort made by the personnel to drive it out
proved futile as if to say that the cobra wanted to stay back in the station.
